We will sometimes attempt to adopt straight from the surrendering home to the new family, that way the bird does not have to "switch" homes again after becoming used to my avairy.  However, there are some times that there is an emergency and immediate placement is just not possible.  All birds that come into the rescue are held for at least 30 days.  This is to make for sure that they are healthy, and that they can adjust to a new environment.  This also lets us know a little more about their personalities and capabilities- so that we can match them properly with a family.  If you are interested in adopting one of our available birds please visit the Adoption page for information.
