Welcome to our Aviary!!!

At this time, we are a privately funded Parrot Rescue and Aviary.  It is our mission to accept birds from families that are no longer able to care for them and in turn adopt them out to families that have been educated on proper bird care, are stable, and ready to provide a lifetime home. We accept all birds intended to be pets - no matter, how big or small, beautiful or ugly, friendly or mean, quiet or loud, feathered or naked! We also accept birds that have been neglected or abused and must be rehabilitated before an adoption can take place.  We realize that in some cases, this neglect or abuse may be so severe that the bird may not recover from it- and they will remain in our Aviary for the remainder of their lives in as natural an environment as possible.

WE ARE A NO KILL RESCUE!  This means exactly what it says.  The only circumstance that we will allow a vet- assisted death, is in a case of extreme trauma or illness where the bird would suffer needlessly.

As we have stated before, we are privately funded- this means that we have not applied for non-profit status.  There may be a time when this becomes necessary, due to expansion, but at this time- we plan to stay small which in turn gives more one-on-one attention to the birds that are in need.  We consider part of our funding to be from any items received during the surrender (food, bowls, cages, etc.).  Many of these items, (toys, food) will continue to follow the individual bird into their adoptive home.  Any fees that are charged during an adoption, will ONLY be to recover costs that are incurred by caring for the birds in the rescue.  These fees will be directly proportionate to the species and individual needs of the adoptive bird.

Our Rescue & Aviary are not open to the public.  Just as if you had a stranger visiting your home, it can make your bird uneasy.  However, for those of you that are considering adoption or surrendering a bird, we will make an apointment so that you can come and visit.  We hope to, at some point have facilities that we are able to give tours and educational presentations.  Although this is still pretty far out into the future.

If you currently run a Parrot rescue, or volunteer at one, please take a minute and leave us feedback.  We can always use all the help we can get!
